A player who skates well for his size, Bluger possesses a wide skating base and long fluid stride that allows him to generate good to above average speed, which can make him tough to contain off the rush as he combines his size and puck protection skills as he drives the goal with purpose. Blugers shows little hesitance to get to the high traffic areas, working the cycle and half boards with effectiveness. However Blugers is arguably at his best within a few feet of the goal as he uses his size and deceptively quick hands in tight to be highly effective in tight. In possession Bluger shows deceptively good hands and overall puck control along with impressive vision and playmaking skills. While his release is quick he does lack some velocity on his shot that should improve with added strength. A player who plays with confidence, Blugers possesses ideal size and an intriguing skill set.

With above average straight line speed and strong edges, Zile can be somewhat shifty and elusive in possession. A player who boasts intriguing leadership qualities, Zile leads by example on the ice, showing an ability to make strong reads with and without the puck. In possession Zile shows deceptively good vision along with an ability to make a quality first pass. A player who shows intrigue in transition, Zile aggressively gets up ice, joining the offensive attack and looking to create. However Zile could make better pinches as his aggressiveness at the offensive end can lead to odd man rushes. While defending in transition Zile does allow entry to the zone rather easily, however he does take away the middle of the ice efficiently, angling defenders off to low percentage areas of the ice. A player who will engage physically, Zile tends to be more of a stick on puck defender. Zile can be somewhat inconsistent with his effort level in his own zone and tends to get caught flat footed when defending with his stick. Still Zile possesses some intrigue as a two-way defender, however he is still raw defensively and that may deter some teams.

Rudolfs Balcers (LW) – April.8.1997 – 5’11, 165 – Liepaja, Latvia – Left
2015-2016 – Stavanger Oilers (Norway) – 43-15-9-24 – 16 PIM – +24

An explosive skater with a pure goal scorers shot, Rudolfs Balcers boasts intriguing offensive upside. A strong skater with an explosive first step and high end straight line speed, Balcers does a fantastic job at finding open ice, exploding through the neutral zone while showing a second gear that allows him to burst past opponents. A player who lacks strength, Balcers isn’t deterred by the gritty areas of the ice as he shows no hesitance getting to pucks first and will engage physically, although at an inconsistent rate. A player who’s work ethic and battle on loose pucks allows him to come away with possession in battles against plays much bigger and stronger, Balcers tenaciousness in puck pursuit allows him to generate a ton of turnovers. In possession Balcers is undoubtedly a shoot first winger as the speedster possesses a lightning quick release along with pin point accuracy and an ability to get his shot off in stride at top speed. Despite Balcers nose for the net he also possesses deceptively good vision and playmaking skills. A player who makes quick and calculated decisions, Balcers also boasts intriguing hands and deceptively good puck protection skills. While there is a lot to like about Balcers on the offensive side of the puck, he does lack defensive zone awareness and needs to add strength to a slender frame if he hopes to have success at the next level.

Deniss Smirnovs (C) – March.7.1999 – 5’9, 146 – Latvia – Left
2015-2016 – Geneve-Servette U17 (Elite Novizen) – 41-25-43-68 – 18 PIM

An undersized, playmaking centre with good speed and intriguing hockey sense, Deniss Smirnovs possesses a dynamic offensive skill set. A player who uses his speed well, Smirnovs is argubably at his best in possession as he uses his speed and puck possession abilities to dictate the pace of play. A strong decision maker with impressive vision and playmaking abilities, Smirnovs shows patience in possession and an impressive level of offensive creativity. While Smirnovs does lack an explosiveness in his first step, he does generate above average speed and can be fairly shifty and elusive in possession as he works his edges extremely well. Smirnovs shows strong positional play in the offensive zone with an uncanny ability to find soft spots in defensive zone coverage’s. A player who finds open ice extremely well, Smirnovs knows how to create time and space for himself to be a threat offensively. Smirnovs could stand to be more selfish in possession as he often passes up quality offensive chances looking for the extra pass. Smirnovs has an accurate shot and can get it off mid stride, however it does lack velocity. Not overly physical, Smirnovs is not deterred by high traffic areas and does an excellent job getting to pucks first, however his lack of size and strength does lead to lost puck battles. While Smirnovs does possess good hockey sense and a intriguing offensive skill set, his defensive zone play is still a work in progress. Smirnovs tends to float or puck chase in the d-zone rarely playing strong positional hockey.

Filips Buncis (C) – June.12.1997 – 6’3, 205 – Jelgava, Latvia
2015-2016 – Johnstown Tomahawks (NAHL) – 51-10-14-24 – 58 PIM – -12

A shot that is both hard and accurate, the big bodied centers offensive game is becoming more dynamic as he continues to develop. Evidence of that is his improved vision and playmaking skills along with overall awareness in the offensive zone. While Buncis does possess an intriguing skill set he is most effective off the cycle and along the half boards as he uses his size and strong puck protection skill to excel. Buncis plays a complete 200 foot game, competes hard and shows intriguing leadership qualities. A player who projects as a complimentary winger, Buncis possesses a versatile skill set that allows him to play anywhere in a teams lineup.

Eriks Zohovs (C) – November.26.1997 – 6’2, 176 – Latvia
2015-2016 – Boston Jr. Ranger (EHL) – 29-19-14-33 – 18 PIM

A big bodied, dynamic offensive player, Eriks Zohovs is still a raw prospect, but does bring an intriguing skill set to the table. Standing 6’2, Zohovs boasts good size, however he is still rather slender and that does translate to him struggling to win puck battles and a limited physical element to his game. With that being said the slender centre does possess intriguing speed and deceptive mobility to his game. A player who can be tough to contain in space due to a shift and elusiveness to his game, Zohovs, sees the ice well and knows how to use his teammates. A playmaking centre by trade, Zohovs best offensive quality is his pro-style shot that comes with a quick release and impressive accuracy. With average to good puck skills, Zohovs combination of deceptive speed, mobility and playmaking abilities allow him to be a consistent offensive threat. A player who has found away to produce at every level, Zohovs is still fairly raw and needs to continue to develop both his offensive and defensive game, however there is lots to like about the 6’2 Latvian.

Maksims Ponomarenko (D) – April.23. 1997 – 6’2, 205 – Liepaja, Latvia
2015-2016 – Lorenskog (Norway) – 37-0-5-5 – 49 PIM – +12

Maksims Ponomarenko is a physical defensive defensemen with developing two-way capabilities. A prospect who is still extremely raw, Ponomarenko brings a strong work ethic to the table on a nightly bases. Ponomarenko shows decent mobility however his stride his short and choppy which hinders his explosiveness and puck carrying capabilities. With that being said Ponomarenko does transition up ice well and shows fairly strong gap control. A player who consistently makes smart and calculated pinches along strong decisions in possession, Ponomarenko is at his best when he keeps his game simple. In his own zone Ponomarenko likes to engage physically, although a lack of strength often has him bouncing off opponents. A player who contains well despite a lack of foot speed, Ponomarenko’s reach and active stick increase his effectiveness as a defender. While Ponomarenko doesn’t have elite puck skills he shows quality puck control with the ability to make an effective and accurate first pass. A player who sees the deceptively well, Ponomarenko has shown an ability to make strong reads, which limit his turnovers while increasing his effectiveness. The towering defender doesn’t have much of an offensive game at this point, however he does routinely see power play time with the Latvian national teams, were he often plays the role of a trigger man, due to his powerful point shot. A player who is extremely raw as a prospect, Ponomarenko’s size and work ethic leave you intrigued but wanting more.

Tomass Zeile (D) – January.26.1998 – 5’11, 176 – Latvia, Left
2015-2016 – Wings HC J18 – 27-6-14-20 – 45 PIM – +5

An undersized, offensive minded defensemen, Tomass Zeile boasts good mobility and impressive puck skills. A player who loves to inject himself into the offensive attack, Zeile aggressively transitions up ice and loves to pinch in from the blue line. While it does allow him to add offense on occasion it also makes him a high risk style of defender. Zeile possesses good puck control and see’s the ice fairly well, allowing him to make an accurate outlet pass along with an ability to quarterback a power play. Zeile’s strongest attributes are his mobility and offensive creativity. With that being said Zeile struggles in his own zone and off the rush. A player who allows easy entry to the offensive zone, Zeile cannot contain a rush and often gets beat wide due to flat feet an poor angles taken to the opposition. A stick on puck defender, Zeile lacks strength and a physical edge which leaves him over matched in puck and net front battles. Zeile’s deficiencies in the defensive zone continue on as he chases the puck and easily drawn out of position. While he has the mobility and foot speed to elude a forecheck, he is easily rattled by an aggressive forecheck and forces things, leading to turnovers. A player who creates offense with his club team, Zeile struggled quite a bit against superior opponents at the Under 18 Championships.

Renars Krastenbergs (LW/RW) – Dec.16.1998 – 5’11, 143 – Jelgava, Latvia
2015-2016 – TPH Thunder U18 (T1EHL) – 30-9-9-18 – 18 PIM

A competitive, undersized winger with intriguing two-way capabilities, Renars Krastenbergs shows a raw but intriguing skill set. Offensively speaking Krastenbergs would be considered a shot first winger and for good reason as he possesses a fairly strong shot that comes off a deceptively quick releases and boasts above average accuracy. A player who shows a tenaciousness in puck pursuit, Krastenbergs will engage physically, however his lack of strength often leads to him simply bouncing off the opposition. With that being said his ability to close on an opposition on the forecheck does lead to turnovers. A player who battles hard and brings a strong work ethic to the table, Krastenbergs shows know hesitation getting to the gritty areas of the ice and is always buzzing around the net. With a long and powerful stride, Krastenbergs does possess good to slightly above average speed, however his first step does lack some explosiveness. Krastenbergs works the half boards and cycle well, shows an ability to effectively kill penalties and continues to improve his puck skills. While Krastenbergs competitiveness is there and his developing skill set is intriguing, he does lack vision and offensive creativity, along with ideal hockey sense. A player who can find a niche a complimentary third line winger or fourth line energy player at the Major Junior level, Krastenbergs season with the TPH Thunder has allowed him to adjust to the North American style of game.

Erlends Klavins (C) – February.8.1998 – 6’2, 176 – Latvia
2015-2016 – HK Riga (MHL) – 42-4-5-9 – 22 PIM – -1

An extremely raw, big bodied centre with deceptive offensive abilities, Erlends Klavins showed well with Team Latvia during the Under 18 Championships after playing a limited role with HK Riga of the MHL. Klavins is a weak skater as he possesses a short choppy stride, poor balance and a lack of explosiveness. With that being said Klavins is effective in the offensive zone as he uses his size to his advantage, works the gritty areas of the ice with effectiveness and does possess fairly quick hands and strong puck control. At his best within 5 feet of the blue paint, Klavins uses his size to be a strong net front presence, battles hard and shows a deceptive nose for the net. While he lacks a far from complete game, limited mobility and poor skating attributes Klavins routinely has found away to contribute offensively. A hard worker, who competes hard on both sides of the puck, Klavins doesn’t exactly scream Major Junior prospect, however there is room to develop.

Belarus Hockey

Dmitri Buinitsky (C/RW) – March.1.1997 – 6’1, 174 – Left – Vitebsk, Belarus
2015-2016 – Madison Capitols (USHL) – 24-6-10-16 – 6 PIM – Even

Dmitri Buinitsky is a skilled, offensive minded forward with above average puck skills. A strong skater that boasts quick feet and above average straight line speed, Buinitsky possesses strong edges and impressive change of pace/direction abilities. When Buinitsky combines his skating abilities with high end puck skills he can become tough to contain in space. A player who protects the puck deceptively well both off the rush and in tight spaces, Buinitsky shows a level of creativity in the offensive zone. A player who keeps his feet moving and shows an ability to find soft spots in defensive zone coverage’s, Buinitsky does have a deceptively good nose for the net, however he does impact the game more in possession as a playmaking forward. With good vision and playmaking skills, Buinitsky is argubably most effective on the PP were the added time and space allows his skill set to be amplified. With that being said Buinitsky is a perimeter player who lacks engagement away from the puck. Routinely caught flat footed and puck watching, Buinitsky shows little competence in his own zone and really can be a liability at times. He does have a quick stick which is why he saw PK time with Belarus at the World Juniors, however he end the tournament a minus 8. A purely offensive player that need’s top six minutes and power play time to be impactful, Buinitsky could be a decent piece for a club that struggles offensively at the Major Junior level.

Yegor Sharangovich (C) – June.6.1998 – 6’0, 176 – Left – Minsk, Belarus
2015-2016 – Dinamo-Raubichi (MHL) – 30-6-6-12 – 12 PIM – -25

Yegor Sharangovich is a defensive minded centre with a developing two-way game. A player who generates good to above average straight line speed due to his long and powerful stride, Sharangovich gets around the ice well and can be a force on the forecheck. A player who doesn’t mind the gritty areas of the ice, Sharangovich takes direct routes to pucks and shows an ability to work the cycle and half boards effectively. While his offensive game is certainly a work in progress, he did tally 28 goals in the Belorussian 2 league in 2014-2015. Sharangovich biggest issue offensively is his limited puck skills, while he does shield the puck well off the rush, he’s still fairly soft on the puck and with limited puck control is easily stripped of possession. A hard working centre, Sharangovich back check’s with effectiveness, is engaged away from the puck and shows good overall awareness in the defensive zone. A player who makes good decisions with the puck, there is no question Sharangovich niche as in his own zone. Sharangovich anticipates the play well, contributes on the penalty kill and his deceptively strong in the face-off dot. Upside for Sharangovich at the major junior level is as a checking line centre who could chip in offensive sporadically, however he would likely be situated in a 4th line role.

Maxim Sushko (F) – February.10.1999 – 6’0, 179 – Left – Brest, Belarus
2015-2016 – Shakhter Soligorsk-2 (Belarus2) – 21-9-21-30 – 42 PIM

Maxim Sushko is a dynamic offensive minded winger with good size and impressive speed. At his best in possession Sushko shows above average puck skills along with impressive vision and playmaking skills. A player who analyzes his options quickly and makes good decisions with the puck, Sushko thrives on the power play were he excels running things off the half boards. While Sushko lacks explosiveness and has an unrefined stride, he does generate good/average speed and makes his way around the ice effectively. With strong edges and quick hands Sushko can create space for himself to operate in the offensive zone. A player who possesses a deceptively strong shot that comes off a quick release and packs impressive velocity, Sushko can beat you as a goal scorer or a playmaker. A player who shows a relentless in puck pursuit, Sushko really hunts the puck and wants to take possession, leading to a strong compete in puck battles. While Sushko protects the puck well off the rush, he needs to be heavier on the puck as he’s often separated from the puck by larger defenders with relative ease. Sushko still has room to improve offensively, however he has large holes to his game defensively. A player who lacks engagement away from the puck, puck watches and gets caught flat footed defensively, Sushko’s upside at this time is purely offensive and even then there he is certainly far from a finished product.

Pavel Vorobey (D) – September.10.1997 – 6’3, 198 – Right – Minsk, Belarus
2015-2016 – Dinamo U20 (Belarus) – 27-0-5-5 – 20 PIM – -6

Pavel Vorobey is a big bodied, defensive minded defender with a developing two-way game. A player who is still extremely raw as he grows into his hulking frame, Vorobey has been a noteworthy on the International stage with Team Belarus at both the 2014-2015 U-18’s and the 2015-2016 World Junior’s. Vorobey is a fairly mobile skater for his size, however he does have heavy feet and a short/choppy stride which limits his straight line speed. With that being said Vorobey shows intriguing hockey sense along with impressive poise and patience in possession. A good decision maker who keeps his game simple, Vorobey makes a hard and accurate first pass, while showing a deceptive ability to fluidly transition up ice and inject himself into the offensive attack on occasion. While Vorobey makes a quality first pass, his puck skills are fairly limited and his point shot lacks velocity. In his own zone Vorobey plays strong positional hockey, closing gaps effectively while showing strong contain. A player with a large wingspan, lengthy reach and an active stick, Vorobey does engage physical as a defensive tool, but is more of a stick on puck defender. As mentioned Vorobey is extremely raw and his skating, despite fairly good mobility does hinder him at times as his balance needs work and he could stand to take better angles to the opposition in transition.

Andrei Belevich (C) – August.27.1997 – 6’2, 185 – Left – Grodno, Belarus
2015-2016 – Dinamo U20 (Belarus) – 28-2-4-6 – 10 PIM – Even
2015-2016 – MHK Yunost Minsk (MHL B ) – 14-7-6-13 – 14 PIM – +10

A competent two-way centre with intriguing size and strength Andre Belevich shows a deceptive amount of offensive upside. A player who plays more of a checking line role, Belevich possesses a strong work ethic and high compete level. Belevich routinely gets to pucks first, engages physically and shows good on ice awareness. A player who anticipates the play well, Belevich also shows a tenaciousness in puck pursuit which allows him to force turnovers with his aggressiveness along with his willingness to engage physically. While the 6’2 centre had limited offensive success with Dinamo U20 of the Belorussian league and Team Belarus at the World Juniors he did produce at near a point per game pace with MHK Yunost Minsk of the MHL B league. Offensively speaking Belevich will get to the gritty areas, work the net front for loose pucks, while also possessing a deceptively good shot, however he rarely showed it. Belevich absolute high end upside would be as a complimentary winger who’s line-mates would be tasked with getting the best out of him. However his competitive nature, size and developing skill game could allow him to find success in that role. With that being said a more realistic expectation of Belevich would be as a checking line/bottom six forward.

Denmark

Jonas Rondbjerg (RW) – March.31.1999 – 6’0, 176 – Left – Denmark
2015-2016 – Rungsted Seier Capital (Denmark) – 35-10-4-14 – 6 PIM – +3

A highly intelligent, two-way winger with intriguing offensive upside, Jonas Rondbjerg is undoubtedly the most intriguing player to come out of Denmark nice Nikolaj Ehlers and Oliver Bjorkstrand. Rondbjerg possesses high end hockey sense and excellent awareness in all three zones, which allows him to be effective in a number of roles. A player who has shutdown defensive capabilities, Rondbjerg’s offensive game continues to evolve and should become something special as the young Dane add’s strength to an intriguing frame. A player who skates well, possessing a long and fluid stride, Rondbjerg is able to generate good to above average speed and can be tough to contain off the rush. Rondbjerg’s most notable offensive tool is his shot, as it comes off a quick release and possesses deceptive velocity. Rondbjerg’s ability to get his shot off mid stride makes him a versatile threat off the rush as he can attack the net, shielding the puck with effectiveness or he can quickly fire a snap shot, using the defender as a screen. A player who possesses underrated puck skills and developing playmaking skills, Rondbjerg does boast intriguing vision and can create for his line mates. Rondbjerg competes on lose pucks, battles hard and back checks with authority, however he does lack a real physical element to his game. In his own zone Rondbjerg possesses an active stick, clogs shooting lanes and routinely picks off passes showing excellent anticipation skills. A very poised player for his age as Rondbjerg adds strength and continues to develop his offensive skill set he has all the ability to be a high end, highly effective two-way winger. As a major junior prospect Rondbjerg has a lot of Oliver Bjorkstrand to his game and is at worst a very quality checking line winger with the ability to chip in offensively.

Nikolaj Krag Christensen (C/LW) – Aug.12.98 – 6’3, 201 – Rodovre, Denmark
2015-2016 – Rodovre Mighty Bulls (Denmark) – 30-2-2-4 – 10 PIM – -1

Nikolaj Krag Christensen is a big bodied, two-way forward with intriguing hockey sense. Krag Christensen shows an effectiveness in all three zones, along with a strong work ethic and high compete level. A player who skates fairly well for his size and can generate good speed, the hulking Dane does lack an explosiveness in his first step and could stand to lengthen his stride as it would undoubtedly give the powerful forward more speed. With that being said Krag Christensen gets around the ice well and contributes on both sides of the puck. A player who anticipates the play well and shows strong awareness, Krag Christensen gets to pucks first and shows an aggressiveness on the forecheck. While not overly physical for a player of his stature, he is an imposing figure with a quick stick which often leads to created turnovers. Offensively speaking Krag Christensen is a strong complimentary player in the sense that he’s limited in what he can create for himself, but does possess offensive abilities that allow him to be successful. A player who uses his size well, Krag Christensen protects the puck well, shows an effectiveness off the cycle and along the half boards, along with deceptively good puck skills. A player who makes good decisions in possession, Krag Christensen knows when to get pucks deep and when to try and create. With deceptive vision and developing playmaking skills, Krag Christensen possesses an underrated shot that is both hard and accurate.

In tight spaces From relies on his strong edges and puck skills to create, which shows an effectiveness doing. Undeniably at his best in possession From shows impressive vision and playmaking skills, while thriving on the man advantage. A player who takes direct routes to puck and shows no fear of the high traffic areas, From is relentless in puck pursuit and create turnovers with his speed and quick stick. Lacking a physical element to his game, From is deceptively strong and hard to knock off the puck. From competes hard away from the puck as well, back checking hard and showing a competences in the defensive end of the rink. A truly intriguing player, From is under contract with the Rogle BK program in Sweden, but could come to the CHL on loan.

Jeppe Jul Korsgaard (LW) – Oct.6.1997 – 5’11, 187 – Left – Aalborg, Denmark
2015-2016 – Aalborg Pirates (Denmark) – 36-7-2-9 – 16 – -10

Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup (RW) – January.14.1998 – 6’0, 190 – Right – Charlottenlund, Denmark
2015-2016 – Boston Jr. Bruins (USPHL Premier) – 35-17-13-30 – 43 PIM

Despite his elite level shot and nose for the net SS also shows deceptively good vision and is developing intriguing playmaking skills. With a strong work ethic and a willingness to compete on a consistent bases, SS possess a powerful stride that allows him to get around the ice with relative ease. However SS could certainly improve his foot speed and work on his explosiveness as it would only allow him to create more time and space for him to operate. Bringing a strong offensive game to the table its not surprising SS is at his best in possession and on the power play. With that being said the 6’0 winger could certainly improve his defensive zone play as he brings an inconsistent work ethic on the defensive side of the puck.

Morten Jensen (D) – March.1.1997 – 6’0, 181 – Left – Denmark
2015-2016 – Rogle BK J20 (SuperElit) – 42-3-12-15 – 42 PIM – +8

A defender who continues to improve in the defensive zone, Jensen displays quick feet and an active stick that allow him to find success as a stick on puck defender. While Jensen is somewhat undersized and could stand to add strength to his frame he doesn’t shy away from the physical side of things, routinely looking to engage physically. A player who plays with aggression, Jensen can be overly aggressive at times, getting easily drawn out of quality defensive positioning. In possession Jensen displays quality puck skills and shows and ability to make a strong first pass. However Jensen struggles with an aggressive forecheck, often forcing things, leading to turnovers. A questionable decision maker, if Jensen could show more poise in patience in possession he does possess the foot speed and mobility to be an effective puck carrying defender. In transition Jensen does get up ice well and will inject himself into the offensive attack on occasion. While defending in transition Jensen holds the blue line well and takes strong angles to the opposition, showing his ability to be an adequate defensemen. If Jensen could limit his turnovers and add strength to his frame there is some upside as a bottom pairing two-way defender.

Norway hockey

Petter Gronstad (LW) – February.4.1997 – 6’0, 185 – Left – Norway
2015-2016 – Lorenskog U20 – 15-20-15-35 -16 PIM – +14

Petter Gronstad is a two-way winger with intriguing physical attributes, skill and a strong work ethic. A player who combines a power game with a skilled game, Gronstad possesses good speed and mobility along with impressive edge work and change of pace/direction abilities. A player who can protect the puck well and drive off of opponents in tight spaces, Gronstad shows an uncanny ability to be equally effective in all 5 on 5 situations. While Gronstad has filled the net with consistency in Norwegian Junior leagues, he’s also been a stand out with the national program. A versatile offensive threat in the sense that he can attack you as a power winger, playmaker or goal scorer, Gronstad plays a responsible puck possession game, displaying strong decision making skills and intriguing hockey sense. A competitive winger with two-way capabilities, Gronstad shows upside as a complimentary second line winger on the high end, while a role as a checking line winger who contributes offensively on occasion seems more likely.

Johannes Johannesen (D) – March.1.1997 – 5’11, 187 – R – Stavanger, Norway
2015-2016 – Stavanger Oilers (Norway) – 43-3-11-14- 12 PIM – +13

Johannes Johannesen is a steady, all-around defender with good mobility and intriguing upside. At 5’11, 187 Johannesen is an average sized defender, however his hockey sense allows him to thrive on both sides of the puck. A strong positional defender with an active stick, Johannesen isn’t overly physical and defends more with his stick an positional, however he will use physical contact as a tool to separate player from puck. A defender who likes to keep things simple, Johannesen won’t wow you with one particular skill but rather all the little things he does right. Extremely poised for his age, Johannesen is a strong decision maker who makes good reads in possession, doesn’t force things, rather taking what comes to him, making the high percentage play. With developing two-way capabilities, Johannesen has an intriguing ceiling and is coming off Rookie of the Year honors in the Norwegian Pro League. Johannesen also suited up with Norway at the Men’s World Hockey Championships and is under contract with Frolunda of the SEL for the 2016-2017 season, however I expect a CHL team to take a risk on drafting the intriguing young Norwegian defender.

Christoffer Karlsen (RW) – Feb.20.1998 – 5’7, 176 – Right – Sarpsborg, Norway
2015-2016 – HV71 J20 (SuperElit) – 28-10-14-24 – 55 PIM – +5

An Undersized offensive minded forward with a versatile offensive skill set and an agitating aspect to his game. Karlsen displays intriguing offensive capabilities that allow him to thrive as both a playmaker and goal scorer. A player who possesses good speed and quick feet, Christoffer Karlsen can be tough to contain in open space due to his speed and shiftiness in possession. Boasting quick hands and dynamic puck skills, Christoffer Karlsen’s puck skills allow him to beat a defender in multiple ways. Despite his undersized stature, Karlsen plays with a lot of tenaciousness and is deceptively strong. A player who will agitate the opponent and finish his checks, Karlsen is slowly developing into a fairly complete player. With improved play on the defensive side of the puck it will be intriguing to see what Karlsen can evolve into. Karlsen is drafted by Tri-City of the USHL but has never suited up for them and is coming of a nearly point per game season with HV71 of the SuperElit, were he has spent the majority of his hockey career.

Andreas Roykas Marthinsen (D) – July.3.1997 – 6’2, 205 – Left – Norway
2015-2016 – Djurgardens IF J20 (SuperElit) – 41-2-10-12 – 44 PIM – -2

A big bodied, physical, defensive defensemen who’s tough to play against, Andreas Roykas Marthinsen is coming off an impressive season with Djurgardens IF J20 of the SuperElit league. The 6’2, defender shows good mobility and contain in his own zone, however he lacks ideal puck skills and very limited offensive upside. A player who engages physically, blocks shots, plays with aggression and competes shift in and shift out, Andreas Roykas Marthinsen shows intrigue as a defensive defensemen. Currently under contract with Djurgardens IF of the Swedish Elite League for the 2016-2017 season, it is still conceivable that Roykas Marthinsen will hear his name called at the upcoming CHL Import Draft.

Gustav Willman Borvik (RW/C) – December.8.1998 – 6’3, 214 – Left – Norway
2015-2016 – Mora IK J18 (J18 Elit) – 28-15-21-36 – 20 PIM

Gustav Willman Borvik is a big bodied, offensive minded forward with a versatile offensive skill set. Blessed with a high end shot that comes off a quick release, boasts impressive velocity and good accuracy, Borvik also displays deceptive vision and playmaking skills along with strong puck protection skills. A player who skates well for his size and shows strong puck protection skills, Borvik could stand to add a physical edge to his game which would allow him to create more space for himself to operate. With quality puck skills and good finish, Borvik was one of Norway’s best and most complete players at the 2015-2016 Division 1-A Under 18 Championships. The hulking winger is expected to suit up with Lulea HF J20 of the SuperElit in 2016-2017 although would like pursue a CHL opportunity.
